Italy tastes SO good!

For many foreign people, Italy is the land of pizza and pasta. And, well, yes, it is, of course… but gastronomy in Italy is a fine art, with countless variations on themes, fresh produce, delectable wines, and what could only be described as a veritable celebration for the taste buds. Experiencing the feeling of the restaurants, trattorias and bars is part of “living Italy”. Following are just a few ideas to whet your appetite!
Piedmont: a magical gourmet experience in every season, with products that are ambassadors of the best artisanal traditions and Italian lifestyle. Visitors should take their time to appreciate the trattorias, historical cafés or Michelin starred restaurants and taste the precious Alba white truffle, great wines and aperitifs, giandujotto chocolate and pastries.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia: The incredible variety of landscapes in this region along with environments and climactic conditions, give unique character to the quality of its local produce. Three major culinary trends – Central European, Venetian and Slav – merge in a cuisine that is “Made in Friuli-Venezia Giulia”. Puglia: Its villages set amidst broad expanses of centuries-old olive groves and vineyards where Designation of Origin products are made, like PDO extra virgin olive oil and delicious DOC wines. Each village has its own typical recipes and dishes rich in fragrances, with menus based on homemade pasta, grilled meats and sh-based specialties. But there are also seasonable vegetables, dairy products such as burrata, cheeses and many baked goods such as the local focaccia.
Tuscany: Don’t miss the Bistecca alla Fiorentina. Florentine T-bone steak is taken from the loin of the young steer (vitellone) and has a “T” shaped bone with the fillet on one side and the sirloin on the other. It’s normally 3-4 cm high and weighs 1,5 – 2 kg!
Veneto: Experience the Veneto cuisine, while helping with the local harvest or taking cooking lessons and meeting local people to enjoy Italian lifestyle. Veneto is known for its Tiramisu dessert, cheeses, hams, radicchios, asparagus, beans, oil, rice and fruit, all accompanied by the numerous excellent DOC and DOCG wines including internationally renowned Prosecco, Amarone and Soave.
